Course Overview
The construction industry, as the second largest sector of the Cyprus Economy, is one of the main sectors that contribute a large part to the country’s gross domestic product.
Excellent knowledge about project management is key to the well-being of businesses in the construction sector and effectively contributes to improving the competitiveness of organizations. Structured project management through project management frameworks and standards offers the best practices and necessary tools to organize, plan and then control all project constraints, as established through years of experience and research.
This seminar focuses on the presentation of methodologies for the most effective coordination and construction planning of building projects, which responds to the development of modern industry.
It aims to understand the various principles of construction project management and to solve technical problems more effectively.
It focuses on teaching alternative tools to improve the quality of the construction project, and by extension the quality of the building organization.
Seminar Content
- Communication Management: Cooperation with site manager, supervising engineer, architect and other contributors to the project.
- Human Resource Management: Organization of construction site, personnel and division of labour. Instructions for execution of work in accordance with plans, work schedule and project specifications.
- Cost Management: Bills of quantities, resources and workforce.
- Scope Management: Recognition and understanding of architectural, structural, mechanical and electrical drawings and visualization of details. Understanding contract documents, collective agreements and insurance documents.
- Risk Management: Safety and health in the workplace and protection of the environment.
- Time Management: Construction site installation and organization. Monitor work execution according to the work plan and project completion schedule. Time recording, additional tasks and project calendar.
- Quality Management: Checking the quality of work, Quality Assurance plan, Environmental plan, Safety and Health.
- Professional and Social Responsibilities: Insurance coverages
- Procurement Management: Quantities and job costing. Ordering materials depending on the progress of the project and space availability.
